So you've heard of Guerrilla Gardening... But, what about Guerrilla Arboriculture?!?!
Did you know they make trees that grow fruit... and nuts.... that you can EAT?!?!?
And that once they're planted and take hold, there isnt much you really need to do after that?!?
(Some variants do well with active pruning and shocking and maintenance... others you can just let be and they do their thing - we're talking about those here... low maintenance varieties...)
You notice how there aren't that many fruit / nut trees growing in your area? And how the city is like (oh no!!! It attracts SQUIRRELS?!?!?! Or... It drops fruit which can STAIN THE SIDEWALK!!! - As if they care about sidewalks....)
Anyhow.
You can just plant the trees yourself in any place you don't think it'll gain much notice. Do it for free by taking cuttings from other such trees. (Check local laws, etc. et. al.)
If you're worried about the city cutting them down then just plant a whole lot and HIDE THEM!!!! I imagine they won't find them all!!!!
After a couple of years - FREE FOOD - EVERYWHERE!!! YEAH!!!
Note: Look for non-invasive species. Look for what USED to grow in your area before it was all cleared out. Look at current foraging guides AND PLANT MORE OF THOSE!!!!
