Formality in AAC would be user dependent too. Like buttons to hide or add when customizing, but people will joke with the wrong formality level or put people in their place with specific forms. Some families use the formalities/others don’t. It is more intensive to basically make 4 of the same page, but may capture language use better. Depending on the language!
In a list of Korean core words by Shin& Hill 2016, there are at least 2 politeness levels.

Had a discussion with a mentor recently about formality/formal conjugations/inflections in AAC. I’ve really only looked at Spanish and a French vocabularies with any linguistic context, and since we need to prioritize efficiency and mirror spoken language, it makes sense not to use them. But as I’ve studied Korean as a hobby, I get the sense that formality levels may need to be an option for some languages as the formality/politeness/honorifics are built much more into daily life.

@CarolineBowen Hi Carolyn, thank you so much for the follow back. I never got to the bottom of why I couldn’t follow others on that server so I’ve since opened up this new account and, thankfully, been able to interact with others freely :) - it’s nice to see the #slt_slp community slowly growing more on Mastodon
