hi guys. got tired of the anti-AI sentiment on seemingly every popular Mastodon instance, so I started an account here! ^_^

i'm no researcher but I do have a thing for #AI research, #AIArt (especially the #anime variety, and mostly looking things up using AI and stuff like that.

I'm not really interested in getting involved with anything commercial in anyway, and most of what I do is non-commercial.

This week, we were discussing the central question Can we "predict" a word? as the basis for statistical language models in our #ISE2025 lecture. Of course, I wasx trying Shakespeare quotes to motivate the (international) students to complement the quotes with "predicted" missing words ;-)
