It's a small miracle. He hasn't seen this well in 50 years.
It's not what we expected at all. He thought he wouldn't be able to see properly without rigid gas permeable lenses being fitted in about 4 weeks. If you know the condition #keratoconus then you'll understand why it's been so bad.
This surgeon has performed a small miracle and I could tell by the little smile on his face that he was really pleased with his work.
In 4 weeks they'll reassess, but he's actually driving bare eyed for the first time since he was 18! (Such a relief that I won't have to drive everywhere.)

Wenn Ihr, oder jemand , den Ihr kennt, vor einer #Star-OP steht: Lasst Euch bloß nicht erzählen, dass es eine gute Idee sei, ein Auge per #IOL für die Ferne und das andere für die Nähe zu korrigieren. -Es sei denn, 3D-Sehen überfordert Euch ohnehin und Teilnahme am Straßenverkehr wird sowieso überbewertet.

Approved for #cataract surgery. Got a video conference with my surgeon on Thursday evening. Will know the cost and prospective operation dates after that. Fingers crossed.

Picked up groceries and put them away. Rain off and on all day will keep me pretty much pinned inside the house, but I got some cheap readers while I was out, so I can at least read again after my #cataract surgery. Ordering new specs next week.
Couldn't wait to get home and give the goats a brushing after my #cataract surgery today. Went very well, no pain or discomfort at all.

The two remote lawns that I usually mow on Monday, I was able to do today, so Monday I'll just have the lawns behind my property and I'll be done and can rest before Tuesday's left eye #cataract surgery. Only a couple more weeks in the season!
An interesting observation after I had my #cataract surgery Tuesday:
After I got my right eye cataract fixed, when I took the eye patch off a day later I realized how horribly bright and glaring the yellow font was that I was using on my GoatsLive web site!
It was retina burning bright neon yellow and I was unaware of it since I was only getting about 40% of the available light to my eyes!
My regular viewers and chatters on the site are much happier with it fixed! 
Rose enjoyed her head brushing tonight. Both goat were a bit put off by my #cataract sunglasses until I took them off and showed them my face.

One tiny lawn to mow today and I'm taking the rest of the day off, resting for my #cataract surgery tomorrow morning. Of course the regular farm chores still need doing!
The #cataract center I'm having my #surgery at next Tuesday called wanting their co-pay.
I asked where I should deliver it. She was very confused and asked, "Deliver what?"
"The 10 goats and 100 chickens I bartered to have the surgery" I said.
She puts me on hold for 2 minutes, then came back laughing when the surgeon told her I was a goat farmer with a sense of humor!
Gave her my AmEx number and left her with a smile

That is $100-150 more than Ontario hospitals are paid. "
