People are odd.

"Holiday bookings to Japan from key Asian markets have plunged ahead of the busy summer season. The cause: rumors of an impending earthquake prophesied in a manga graphic novel.

"Social media and viral posts have unsettled travellers and renewed attention to manga artist Ryo Tatsuki’s prediction of a huge earthquake that would inundate Japan with tsunami waves. Tatsuki, whom some claim predicted Japan’s 2011 earthquake, gives July 2025 as the date of the impending event in a graphic novel that was first published back in 1999."

The Sydney Morning Herald · Asian tourist numbers to Japan are plummeting. A comic book is to blameHoliday bookings to Japan from key Asian markets have plunged as a dire prediction made in a graphic novel goes viral on social media.

I sent a message to a local printing house asking their general pricing for printing a comic book (approx. 70 pages, hard back/paper back, full color, heavy paper weight, glossy) and might just turn out that printing locally may be too expensive after all...

Unless I hit a jackpot and can do printing and delivery, since not sure any Finnish company does print-on-demand where people can order their own copies.

Sleepwalking by Lauren Monger

Follow Clementine and friends as they navigate the perils of ex-partner drama, too-loud house shows, and the overwhelming ennui that is twenty-somethings, trying.

This one is so good if you like furries and the music scene. I'm pretty sure the author is white, but the art is still pretty good.

Your Black Friend and Other Strangers by Ben Passmore

Oh, oh, I forgot to mention that this one is also by a Black artist.

In Your Black Friend and Other Strangers, Ben Passmore masterfully tackles comics about race, gentrification, the prison system, online dating, gross punks, bad street art, kung fu movie references, beating up God, and lots of other grown-up stuff with refreshing doses of humor and lived relatability.
