I'm a PhD student at #UniversityOfHelsinki in Finland. I research canine cognitive traits, and look at things such as heritability, breed differences, and associations with problem behaviour.

I'm fascinated by #AnimalBehaviour / #AnimalBehavior #AnimalCognition, #Ethology, #DogBehaviour, #CanineScience, #CanineCognition and #AnimalWelfare.

I have a #RescueDog called Jessie, and a little #DayGecko called Suki.

My dog Arthur is quite nervous and when he gets very excited about something he regularly attacks his (literal) brother, Rufus.

After a small procedure Arthur had to wear a cone for a bit. To our amazement he was quite happy wearing it. He was a lot calmer and relaxed, hardly got excited and never attacked Rufus.

Can any of you explain this?

Do you know of something that could have the same soothing effect?
