The Octopia expansion to #Eastward is such a wonderful little escape. It's just the perfect speed for me right now. I love all the little qol choices (your watering can never runs out of water! when the day ends, you still can move around your home and kitchen, so you never run out of time to cook/eat!) as well as the time and story to spend with these characters in another timeline.

@moss Terraformers by @ Annalee Newitz is a wonderful book, and broadly fits that genre tag. Seconding the game #IWasATeenageExocolonist and adding #Eastward. & She-Ra and the Princesses of Power is always delightful.

Okay just gonna evangelize #Eastward again real quick cause that game is amazing and it is criminally underappreciated.
You will love it if you like #SciFi, #90sAnime, #Earthbound, classic #Zelda, #Mario & Luigi Superstar Saga, narrative-heavy games with great characterization and dialogue, gorgeous #Pixelart, and emotional synthy #chiptune soundtracks. There is a lot of dialogue, for sure, but it's a big part of the game's charm.
This game is a work of art. Try it out before the DLC drops.

That's a hard one, but at the top of my head, the pixel art from #eastward
Pixpil put a lot of effort into the presentation, and it shows. Everything from the details on the post apocalyptic ruins to the expressions and movement on the character sprites. It is legit one of the most beautiful 2D games I have ever played.
I think the abandoned shopping mall, New Dam City, and all of Sam's expressions are my favorite examples of this.

I've played #Persona5 Royal and Strikers. I liked #AnimalCrossingNewHorizons when it first came out. #Eastward and #TheTouryst were cute games. But my favorite of all is #DragonQuest.
What should I play next?
Here are some characters vaguely in the style of Eastward. The three on the left are original designs and the other one is John Darksoul or just "Dark Soul", protagonist of the hit franchise Dark Souls (known for his famous quote: "Every soul has its dark.").
