Here's an example of #China using cinematic feature films as #nationalist #propaganda. It's a very well done, high budget film. You can see how dramatic films like these are used to promote nationalistic pride. These state approved propaganda films are disguised as entertainment & are designed to brainwash citizens, over time.
It's really not that different than how the USA film industry creates a lot of state approved propaganda films that aid/abet nationalistic BS too.
*Qomolangma is #Tibetan for #MountEverest
‐----------
" It is based on the real-life expedition of four #Chinese #mountaineers in 1960. Two generations of Chinese mountaineers who scaled Mount #Qomolangma from the perilous north side in 1960 and 1975. Finally in 1975 they held the last chance and successfully reached the top of Qomolangma. It was the first success in the history of mankind to climb Qomolangma's north side. "

Did you ever give up a traditional career for one in art? Would love to know. Here is a stubborn young woman who told her mother she would study film, and not law.

finally pulled all my music together in one place - clean layout, easy to browse, proper rss feeds if you're into that. downloads are free (always will be), but if you feel like throwing a few coins my way, that's an option too. totally optional, nothing paywalled. go poke around.boosts are also more than welcome! :)
#WhatWereReading : Leave the Gun, Take the Cannoli by Mark Seal, a deep dive into the creation of the bestselling Godfather novel, then the film, featuring a fascinating cast of now-famous names.
An especial delight for #Film fans, giving a window into the turbulent period when the big studios were changing and a new generation of film-makers were shaking things up (Coppola, young and hungry but almost unknown at this point, fighting to get an even more unknown actor called Al Pacino cast, real life mobsters interacting with Hollywood execs)

It seems like the entire world of film-enthusiasts came together and decided to bully one person for no reason what so ever. And that one person is Michael Bay.

Hello everyone,
My name is Carlos and I'm a #Freelance Product Designer / UX Engineer / Sr Software Engineer based in Spain .
I'm new to fediverse and the whole concept is still confusing to me but I hope to get used to it soon.
I like everything that has to do with:
#app #design and #development
#photography
#filmmaking
#gaming
#reading
#indie #movies
I hope to meet great people and build a nice community here.
How did Kermit ride a bicycle when his puppeteer was hidden? This #video takes a look at the brilliant practical effects that brought Muppets into real-world settings before #CGI existed.
From mirror illusions to radio-controlled mechanisms, each solution shows how creative constraints generate ingenious #innovations. Jim Henson even spent three hours in an aluminum canister underwater to film Kermit in his swamp.
Italian filmmaker @_elena is on a mission to bring more people into the fediverse. Today she dropped a brief explainer video for folks who aren’t familiar with it:
https://news.elenarossini.com/fediverse-video/
Because I’m deeply embedded here, I’m not a great judge. But it feels pretty approachable for new folks. Just enough to shake hands.
It’s lovely to see folks building things to help the fedi grow.
