On Hulu: "The Flintstones." Specifically the episode where Fred and Barney enter a race car in the "Indianrockolis 500." They do it to raise money for a college fund for Pebbles and Bamm-Bamm.

Unusual for cartoon depictions of auto races: a mention of a pace car.

Apparently Indianrockolis isn't far from Bedrock. Wonder if that makes Fred a Hoosier (which would explain a lot about him)? 🙂

Today's movie was Commando (1985).

Commando is a shining representation of 80's action films. Loud, brash, uncompromisingly silly and so entertaining. Continuity between cuts? Who cares! Accurate ammo count? Why? That's silly! Rose bushes so thick that they can stop bullets? Hell yea! Guns that sound like Howitzers? The louder the better!

That phone booth scene was...chef's kiss!

Hey! That's Bill Paxton!

Vacation Friends (2023)

A sequel that wasn't needed. This was a 22 minute sitcom episode stretched unsuccessfully to 1h 46m.

There is only one good thing about this movie: John Cena. John Cena is a natural and gifted comic.

The joke and laugh density is quite low in this movie. What jokes that were in the movie mostly fell flat.

I enjoyed the first movie, this sequel not so much.

Rated 3 out of 10.

Streamed on Hulu.

Tonight's movie was The Immaculate Room (2022).

It all starts with a cockroach.

A lofty central premise is squandered on an immensely annoying man and a broken petty woman -- neither of which were enough to make me care if they made it or not. The production design was near perfect, but not enough to help the movie overcome its flaws.

Chekov's gun.
