```
mimeopen -d .pdf
```

Here's an interesting question for you:
Can RFC 2047 encoded text in the Subject line of an email contain encoded line break characters (i.e.,, ^J, a.k.a. 0x0A)?
I don't think they should, because the point of RFC 2047 encoding is to encode non-ASCII characters which would otherwise be legal in the Subject line, not to encode characters which would otherwise be _illegal_, which includes line breaks.
RFC 2047 itself doesn't give a definitive answer.
What do you think?

One of the "fun" features of #email is the multipart/alternative #MIME part.

It allows the sender to provide the same content in multiple formats, to "help" clients which have only limited capabilities.

In practice, this is only ever used to send both plain-text and HTML versions of a message. Also, in practice, senders routinely send garbage as one of the "alternatives."

Deciding which part to display (or quote in replies) is a "fun" challenge when writing a mail client.

Marcel Marceau Cats!

You wouldn't think Cats would make good Marcel Marceau student Mimes, but you'd be mistaken!

Cats are extremely creative, and virtuous, and they love to dress up, and play with imaginary things.

Oh sure, their paws get in the way of invisible walls, and yes, they're not very good at grasping invisible ropes, but they try, and they are good sports at performative role playing!
