So after putting some miles on the rack, both local and highway, I think I can say that this rack is super solid. I did a number of hard pulls, hard stops, and put some strong lateral-Gs on it all while loaded. I even kicked out the rear end of my Mach E at least once.
Not even a wiggle.
I'll still need to see how it holds up long term to Michigan weather, but for now I think I can safely suggest an 1UP rack if you are in the market.
I purchased the heavy duty model by the way. Not technically required for my current bike, but I wanted the flexibility in case I ever wanted to add on a second bike or an e-bike.
The only issue I've had so far is that, depending on how the bike is loaded, it may interfere with the blind spot sensor. I can avoid this with careful loading.
That was a fun little project. Overall went pretty well. I had a couple minor hiccups, but experience and patience got me through.
@TechConnectify The only reason I have to like the CCS socket in my Mach-E is that it is how I charge my car. There is no love affair with the connector. If the Tesla connector wins, so be it. I just want to get a good reliable charge. I like to see Ford making big bold moves like this. After all, in my opinion Teslas makes great drive chains and chargers, and Ford makes better cars. #tesla #ford #mache #ev #electricvehicles
Jim Farley has Ford's software priorities right on target. Unlike GM that is dropping CarPlay, Ford will embrace it for Infotainment functions and concentrate on the critical automotive functions such as BlueCruise. Auto makers simply cannot compete directly with our phones for Infotainment.

Plus - they passed the 'cat test'. When I showed them to my tortie cat, Officer Dibble, her eyes widened with that murderous look!
