I wasn’t aware of this one. Interesting that it was attempted for an elementary school. (I’ve experienced more brutalism in post secondary campuses where I have attended or taught.)
One landmark brutalist complex that is still surprisingly functioning is Moshe Safdie’s Habitat 67 in Montreal. I always expected it to become abandoned but instead it seems to have a vibrant community that appreciates it. There are tours in summer which suggests that it remains fascinating over half a century after Expo ‘67. I see a unit listed for about CDN $ 2 million.

14/n After two months of work (so far), it's looking like a house! Shingles are up to the roof on all sides of the house. Gutters are up around the porch, and along the south side of the house.
Monday should be warm, and dry, enough for some painting to get done. I'm looking forward to seeing the windows yellow instead of white.
13/n Some of the downspouts will descend alongside the enclosed brick porch. Those will be a bricky red, to avoid the clash of the blue against brick.
12/n The new gutter color, "Pacific Blue", started going up on Monday. So it's the final choice. And it's the best of the three.
11/n Last week, we learned that the 2nd gutter color choice, "Ivy Green", had been discontinued by the manufacturer. The gutters themselves are seamless, extruded on-site from large rolls of finished sheet metal. Pre-fab parts, such as corner miters, are not, and critical parts were no longer stocked.
So, last Friday I chose yet a third gutter color ...
10/n It's been a month, and lots of changes in that time.
3 weeks ago, I selected the color for the window casings, and possibly other trim: Benjamin Moore's "Hathaway Gold".

9/n Every time I'm going through looking at color chips, as referenced earlier [https://ecoevo.social/@xris/111562787894537071], this scene plays through my mind.
8/n I've been trying to select a color for the window casings, the "frame" around the outsides of the windows, and other trim. However, NYC had no sun for 11 days! So I've only been able to sort and sample for overcast and clouds.
Today it's finally sunny! So my task this afternoon is to select the 4th, hopefully final, color. Sticking with natural palette, going for "goldenrod"-esque.
7/n After visualizing burgundy downspouts against sage green shingles [shudder!], I changed my mind about the gutter color. The manufacturer calls it "Ivy Green", but it reads as blue-green. It took me another week or two to select a white, for soffits, trim and a porch ceiling.

6/n Progress on *my* house has been dependent on the weather. We've lucked out over the past month with unseasonably warm and unprecipitous weather.
Siding started going up on the south side of the house 2 weeks ago. They've already wrapped around to the other side, working on multiple sections as they work their way up.
