Knowing that our Premier in Alberta, Danielle Smith, not only praised this legislation in Florida, told us how she "greatly admired" governor Ron DeSantis for his "Don't Say Gay" legislation, then enacted the same sort of legislation in Alberta, is also incomprehensible.
This is what Danielle Smith supports. Extreme authoritarian rule where angry reactionaries can fire public school teachers for simply listening to their kids.
This is unconscionable. We must vote out the UCP and demand that the new government repeal these hateful transphobic, homophobic, anti-queer laws in Alberta.
It is a demon that has been well-fed, and plenty of doillars yet flow to keep it that way.
#NDP were on their way to taking the money out of AB politics, which is the first step. Otoh on that file alone so far the #UCP have taken two steps back, at least.
Alberta leaving is the end of Canada for the rest of Canadians too, which Danni knows full well.

So the GovCanada sends a new $200 Canada Disability Benefit to disabled Albertans, and inresponse the GovAlberta declares it non-exempt income and will reduce AISH payments, leaving total incomes exactly where they were and saving the province $49M off the backs of disabled Albertans.
