Tonight's needlework, progress on the acorn cap boy, who is my adaptation after the style of the fruit hat girls from "501 Enchanting Embroidery Designs".

Anne of Green Gables reading: frightening herself with imagining ghosts in the spruce woods between her house and her best friend's house, and earnestly trying to welcome the new young minister and his sweet and kind wife, but spoiling a cake by flavoring it with liniment which Marilla had stored in an empty vanilla bottle.

I wonder if anyone has done a shoujo manga of Anne? Her character and stories sound like they would fit. (edit: yes, multiple adaptations to manga and anime)

Anne of Green Gables is reconciled with her best friend Diana's mother by a night of heroic nursing for the youngest child who took sick while the parents were away.

Tonight's reading was an evening variety recital put on by Anne's school which led to a mishap getting Diana in trouble with her visiting great-aunt, repaired by an honest confession and a charming apology from Anne.

Needlework progress is the small flowers by the fruit hat characters' feet.

Having Anne of Green Gables ("Anne with an E!") read to me while I continue with the floral border. Matthew and Marilla decide that it's too cruel to send her away even if they really wanted a boy to help Matthew with the farm chores and somehow the message didn't make it.

The floral border is mostly done. After that the plan is for cute little designs from the same pattern book. The headlamp really helps.
