That time I was a very bad daughter, in 1991.
My parents bought our family home in early 1991. At that time, they both worked 2 jobs, including a nighttime janitorial couples job at local government offices. I was in my early troublesome teen era. I threw a party at our home & invited only my friends from 3 different high schools. The word got out & every single high school crowd had found out about it. Our street had hundreds of teens arriving, almost all at once. I was flabbergasted & didn't know what to do because people wouldn't leave. Several had invaded my bedroom & messing my stuff up. parents came home. They were freaking out. My Mom picked up her broom & started yelling & literally sweeping people out with broom. 6 cop cars arrived because neighbours called. Everyone scattered. I jumped in a car with 3 friends & met up with others at Layritz Park. Where we then set up a random obstacle course & did races at it for 2 hours before cops came to chase us off. We ended up at Durrance Lake & skinnydipped by moonlight.
I was grounded for 2 weeks & had my driving privileges revoked for a month. I deserved it for being an irresponsible little shit.
The Bolland covers on the US-format colourised Judge Dredd comics are outstanding. I’m lucky I still have a few in the ‘archives’

1980s Action Force’s villain Baron Ironblood seems to have a remarkable resemblance to the earlier incarnation of serial UK election candidate Lord Buckethead, and his future spin-off Count Binface. #MemoryLane #ActionFigures #ActionForce #Toys #Merchandise #Comics #UKcomics #CountBinFace #LordBucketHead #BaronIronBlood

Ooh, just dug this out. Raw comic magazine compilation selected from the first 3 issues (Read Yourself Raw, 1987). I think a mate bought it for me in my late teens as a birthday pressie (£9.99 from Forbidden Planet when it was on Dawson St. Dublin). Or I bought it in the company of a mate on a city centre comic spree. Either way, I’m glad it’s rediscovered. #MemoryLane #RawMagazine #ArtSpiegelman #GaryPanter #1980s #Comics #ComicBookArt
I seem to have saved a few bits and bobs from the time of the currency change-over to the Euro. A few ads, newspaper clippings, and that Irish £ to € calculator which I’m pretty sure I used only about twice. My memory is that I got Euros out of an ATM after a New Year’s party at the Project Arts Centre … and that was it. Currency transition done.

Obviously the current generation of movie producers and studio executives are in the same age group as me. Because they’re literally remaking or rebooting all the films which were out about 40 years ago …

One of the incidents that really struck a chord with me was when Mary Chubb was excavating a necklace, and thinking of the person who'd lost it all those thousands of years before, and of a necklace of daisies she'd had as a child, and lost. I made her a daisy necklace in response
I am more fortunate than she: this little necklace of plastic hearts on brass wire was given to me when I was about seven, and it is still charming.
