#ToxicPeople in #BritishColumbia preying on multiple Indigenous communities in Canada thread. Feel free to add your own, similar toxic shitbuckets of Canada to my list - which will be updated with other pathological liars running their shitgames all over BC.

This one is a mentally unstable, unmedicated bipolar nutjob who abandoned her only child & has lived out of motels/car for several years. Sex work is how she gets money. I have nothing against sex workers except for ones like her who try to traffick vulnerable young native girls & desperate older native women to get into sex work too - when they don't want to. I have a lot against ANYONE who tries to buy people with money & gifts as well - this is her way to get in with multiple naive ppl.

This #pretendian claims to be Cree. She is not #Indigenous whatsoever.

Buffy Sainte-Marie has now also been stripped of her Polaris Music Prize, her five Juno Awards, and her induction into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame.

Sainte-Marie recently confirmed that she is an American citizen, not a Canadian citizen. Questions remain around her Indigenous identity. Apparently, the awards have been stripped because she doesn't meet eligibility requirements.

Toronto Star · Buffy Sainte-Marie stripped of Polaris Music Prize, Juno Awards and Canadian Music Hall of Fame inductionBy Richie Assaly

Buffy Sainte-Marie has been stripped of her Order of Canada appointment. First reported in the National Post [1]

If you are new to the story, for more context, I recommend watching the original 2023 CBC investigation by The Fifth Estate [2]

And counterbalancing that by reading Michelle Cyca's article "What's the Point of 'Pretendian' Investiations?" [3]

FYI - I wrote to #Indiginews about Khursten being a #SexTrafficking #pretendian & they never edited the article for accuracy/honesty. Despite the writer of the article being OK with it being edited for accuracy. This is not being upfront & it is not cool for ANY media, much less #Indigenous media to lie about white girls being fucking #Cree.

This is the article:

Please contact them & let them know that telling the public a white girl is a Cree is NOT OK:

To its 20 members, this is the heart of Canada’s newest "First Nation." But seven local Indigenous chiefs claim it is the site of a brazen fraud that threatens to erode their hard-fought constitutional rights.

Classic #pretendian behaviour: revising narratives and once challenged, scrubbing references to Native claims from websites. Now BSM says: "I don't need to answer to you," when CBC relays the Piapot First Nation chief request that she take a DNA test, I presume, beginning with a sibling DNA test with her Santamaria sister, Lainey. cbc.ca/player/play/22881219238

@likelyjanlukas I am also a settler colonial with no Indigenous heritage. Nevertheless, I have engaged enough with Indigenous communities to see a lot of problems with anyone saying they are members of 3 different tribes or nations. I'm sad that an "Indigenous icon" of many decades appears to be yet another #pretendian

The Northern Great Plains History Conference in Sioux Falls, South Dakota is platforming Kent Blansett, a well-known alleged #Pretendian who will give the keynote lecture on Friday night. The topic of his lecture is about the siege at Wounded Knee in 1973, commemorating the 50th anniversary. Conference organizers were told by an actual Indigenous historian that this was a bad idea. I will link below to stories that challenge Blansett's claims to five different tribes.

Liz Hoover, Pretend Indian of UCB earns almost $200K, very substantially more than faculty peers, & much much more than most Indigenous people.

The problem w this is she took prestigious funding & positions of authority as a boss that exploits & controls Indigenous people. With the ability to block their access to funding/professional devt... & DID. It's amateur colonialism.

W no traceable connection to an Indigenous community & a weird fabricated identity #Pretendian

She is still at UC Berkeley, & still doing her thing.

According to a letter made on behalf of Indigenous scholars & former students "We demand that Elizabeth Hoover resign from her position as Associate Professor of Environmental Science, Policy, & Management (ESPM) & leave UC Berkeley."

"The cases that have come to the attention of the media & have therefore become sort of nationally known are only the tip of the iceberg. There are thousands of people who are #claiming an #Indigenous #identity and I would say most of them, a lot of them are #illegitimate ” Teillet said. “According to professor Darryl Leroux, we’re talking over 100,000 people.”
