Timely reminder to parents who have school-age children starting a spring or Easter break today: clean out those lunch boxes and spare yourself an active biohazard in a couple of weeks.
This message is brought to you by lived-in experience.

One final one from me for today.
I was at Uni and when the semester finished (so technically ‘grown up school’), I helped my lecturer with a mini project in the lab. The lead technician had this song on repeat (along with You Stole the Sun from my Heart) and I grew to love it.
Manic Street Preachers and A Design for Life.
#JukeBoxFridayNight #SchoolsOut
This song reminds me of the time when school finished and coincided with the family getting cable for the first time. So we spent most of the holidays watching 90s MTV and VH1.
Soundgarden and Black Hole Sun.
#JukeBoxFridayNight #SchoolsOut
This song always reminds me of breaking up from school. Haven’t heard it for a while but still sound ms good (yes, back in the day it got overplayed to death).
Diana King and Shy Guy.

One of these days I'll be able to add a hashtag without going through all the symbol keyboards to find the # (even though it's right there on the first page) and adding capital letters in the wrong place. Until then, there's another song.
A Liberal Education - New Model Army

Teaching English Through Sex and Death - The Blue Aeroplanes
My #JukeboxFridayNight song for the #SchoolsOut theme is "Precious Heart" from Street Fighter EX plus Alpha which has some of the most gorgeous video game tracks ever, but I really like this one which is Sakura's theme. I think it fits because her stage is on a school campus in what appears to be summer and it has a very "school's out" feel to it, especially since it's a fight taking place and the campus is deserted. Like they're just using the school lawn to fight on on a weekend or holiday. It's honestly one of my favorite game tracks of all time.

Fifteen by #TaylorSwift is definitely a song about school, but also my kids are around that age, and
“When you’re fifteen
and somebody tells you they love you
you’re gonna believe them”
Is the purpose of school to just churn out willing, disposable, conforming units for the military/industrial complex?
A good question...
My Chemical Romance - Teenagers
#JukeboxFridayNight #SchoolsOut
I remember playing this when I got home from school and it setting up my summer (in the northern hemisphere at least!).
Nalin & Kane and Beachball (vocal mix).
Did she smile at me? I'd really like to ask her out but does she like Iron Maiden?
Wheatus - Teenage Dirtbag
You #JukeboxFridayNight people are amazing here. Such an amazing array of songs, genres, interpretations of the #SchoolsOut brief. Maybe you're all looking through them before you post, but I have to search to find any duplicates.
I'm going to offer It's a Sin, by the Pet Shop Boys.

I guess I'll start #JukeboxFridayNight #JukeboxSometimeOrOther now, as I've not got much else to do today. The theme is #SchoolsOut, and this is my first offering.
Schooldays - the McGarrigle Hour (featuring Kate and Anna McGarrigle Loudon, Martha and Rufus Wainwright & Chaim Tannenbaum)
I think I'll finish with something that is more about weekends, but it's for all those parents who will have the kids around all day –
"Send the children to bed
and let the drinks come out,
We'll play our favourite records
and kiss on the mouth …"
Nathaniel Rateliff & the Night Sweats, "Out on the Weekend (Version 2)" (2016)
