Sunflower Seed Escape
This morning, I spotted a tufted titmouse mid-act, executing a bold and daring raid on a bird feeder.

Whimsical Woodland Sprite
This whimsical sprite is playfully dubbed a tree gnome (Nanus arboris)—just kidding! But doesn’t the bird’s crest resemble a gnome’s hat? In reality, it is a tufted titmouse (Baeolophus bicolor). These charming little birds frequent the nearby forest and often visit my backyard feeders. Their visits are brief; they swoop in just long enough to snatch a sunflower seed or peanut before darting back to the safety of the trees.

Tiny Titan of the Forest
This morning, I spotted a tufted titmouse (Baeolophus bicolor). I'm not sure how many of these delightful little birds are around during the mornings, but sometimes I see several. Since they are not sexually dimorphic, distinguishing between males and females is something I haven't been able to do.

Bird's Eye View
Though this isn't a particularly exceptional photograph, I found the gray eyes of the tufted titmouse (Baeolophus bicolor) intriguing. You can tell by the position of the pupil in its right eye that the bird is staring directly at me, probably gauging how much of a threat I pose.

In the Heart of the Forest
Here is someone's favorite bird, a tufted titmouse (Baeolophus bicolor).
You know, the photographs that I post here are not quite as vivid as the same photographs that I post at my pixel's gallery, because here, I reduce the size of the photos and usually make a slight reduction in the quality of the photos to make them easier to load.

Backyard Visitor
This close-up photo captures a tufted titmouse (Baeolophus bicolor) visiting my bird feeder.
"A little gray bird with an echoing voice, the Tufted Titmouse is common in eastern deciduous forests and a frequent visitor to feeders. The large black eyes, small, round bill, and brushy crest gives these birds a quiet but eager expression that matches the way they flit through canopies, hang from twig-ends, and drop in to bird feeders. When a titmouse finds a large seed, you’ll see it carry the prize to a perch and crack it with sharp whacks of its stout bill." - allaboutbirds.org
