One of the most important things today that makes a city liveable and sustainable is a combination of good public transport and cycleways. Melbourne and Sydney have come on leaps and bounds in this regard over the past decade - and Copenhagen sets the benchmark. Check out the bike lane in the Olympic Park. Narrow, no divider. Compare that to the dedicated cycleway in the CBD.

On one of my outings to familiarise myself with the neighbourhood, I stopped to ask this older gentleman how he liked his #trike. He was a big fan, uses it to get everywhere, facilitated greatly by the #cycleways all over #Ōtautahi #Christchurch.

I asked to take a pic so I could remember the make and model, cuz I've thought of getting myself one. It's a couple grand, so it'll be a while to save. Cool, though!

So I fell back in love with #cycling when I bought an #ebike and therefore occasionally rant about #cycleways or lack of them. I live in #Aberdeenshire but also run a holiday let in #Lochalsh so every now and then you get pictures of thereabouts and #Skye. And I’ve a very cute #dog and 2 #cats.
