The use of the legendary singer-songwriter Cat Stevens/Yusuf’s music in Harold and Maude is on par with Simon & Garfunkel’s in The Graduate or Elliott Smith’s in Good Will Hunting, with the songs often speaking for the characters.

I'd say this country has been too harsh in its outright condemnation of war …
Glancing at my list, I think next week might be

Whenever BELL calls to get me to sign up for some rubbish tv channel, they are surprised whenever I say that I don' t watch terrestrial tv. Give me a film any day (or a Korean drama but that is another indulgence all together )
On December 20, 1971, Harold and Maude debuted in the United Kingdom. Here’s some original Bud Cort and Ruth Gordon art!

The image in post 7 of the #10Films thread is from Harold and Maude (1971). As expected, a lot of people recognized this image.
I was only 10 years old when this film came out so I didn't see it until years later. I think I saw it sometime in the late 1980s after a friend told me about it.

How have I reached 62 years old having never seen Harold and Maude?
It was just wonderful, and I see how it's earned its loyal fan base as a classic.
@sbarolo. Can't wait to watch this episode and guess I'll have to rewatch some faves like #Rosemary'sBaby and #HaroldandMaude. Psyched!
It's National Umbrella Day
I'm reminded of this iconic scene in Harold and Maude, the 1971 cult classic in which an emo kid falls in love with an elderly criminal after meeting at funerals. Maude is a sunflower, a beacon of light and life amidst gloom and death. Nearly everything she says is a lesson on how to live.
“A lot of people enjoy being dead. But they are not dead, really. They're just backing away from life. *Reach* out. Take a *chance*. Get *hurt* even. But play as well as you can. Go team, go! Give me an L. Give me an I. Give me a V. Give me an E. L-I-V-E. LIVE! Otherwise, you got nothing to talk about in the locker room.”

Lately I've been catching up on #films I haven't watched, but wanted to. Normally, I watch comedy, scifi, fantasy, historical drama. My favorites are dramedies or dark comedies. I have a soft spot for great cinematography.
