#TheCreator and #ElectricState defend more or less the same plot, the friendly robots and the robot human child. I hate it... but isn't #TheCreator more faithful to #SimonStalenhag's art?

The Creator is a great movie, whether you like it or not.
Nice little film with Brett Northcutt of ILM talking about some of the work he did on The Creator…
I’ve been waiting since February for this gem to arrive. #theArtOf #theCreator #Artbook #SciFi
Just finished #TheCreator.
Wuf, what a beautiful mess of a movie. The amount of amazing visuals, art direction, etc just can’t quite make up for an absolute mess of a plot.
Seriously, though, is it too much to ask for an original science fiction movie with actual *good* writing?

Even though the artbook dedicated to The Creator (2023) was released a few days ago, I'd love to add a book containing all the drawings by Richard Anderson for True Love (the original title/codename of Gareth Edwards' film) to my library.

Just noticed that The Creator is available to buy now. I thoroughly recommend watching it if you didn't catch it at the cinema. A beautiful film.
Q&A: Writer-Director Chris Weitz on What He's Learned from Growing Up (and Older) in Film
“Now I’m all about process. The film is the product of that, but I don’t mistake the way that product is received by the consumer as the measure of it. The measure of it was the making of the film itself.”

"Keeping my bias in check, I left the movie with this question: Why is it that Asians are often portrayed as either backward, evil, or both, which then gives the West a justification to treat us with blind inhumane violence?"

I just saw #TheCreator and:
• production design: excellent
• performances: good, particularly Alfie
• special effects: terrific
• plot: MADE NO SENSE AT ALL
Roughly every 30 seconds I was saying "Wait, what? Why? That doesn't —"
It's great that a new sci-fi movie is out based on fresh non-franchise IP. But yeah. Dumb as a box of hammers.
just got back from watching #TheCreator - overall a good movie. the plot is a bit basic, but there's some creativity in presenting it (perhaps in editing?); captivating visuals; good acting where it counts
felt like a solid 80s sci-fi movie done today
Was pleasantly surprised to see Sturgill Simpson doing some sci-fi movie acting in "The Creator" last night.
Was a bit bummed that they didn't slip one of his songs onto a radio playing in the background.
The script for #TheCreator is not as good as the ideas and the world building. Still a solid Sci-Fi film. It looks amazing even though it was shot entirely on a fairly cheap Sony FX3.
The gear factor is very high!

Anyone seen #TheCreator?
Watched "The Creator" at my local AMC last night.
The plot is pretty simple but watching the film is a shock to the system which is bombarded with lots of very loud sound effects, violent action scenes and pretty amazing CGI.
I thought the film stole bits from various other movies, including (but not limited to):
Apocalypse Now (1979)
Blade Runner (1982)
A.I: Artificial Intelligence (2001)
The Last Airbender (2010)
Oblivion (2013)
Elysium (2013)
Alita: Battle Angel (2019)
Hard to imagine such a hodge podge on the screen but The Creator manages to do it, which makes it a mess to watch if you try to make sense of it all but, if you dispell logic, you can just enjoy the ride as I did.
