I got into rucking as a way to improve my running endurance and form. After some solid advice from @Wolf I loaded up my pack and hit the road. I've outgrown the weights I had so I looked online for some new ones. They're crazy expensive. (Including a 10lb cast iron "tactical" rucking plate for $80 😂) Luckily I found a tutorial on making your own sandbags by filling baggies with sand and wrapping them in duct tape. My total cost? $10. #running #rucking #exercise

People who survive heart attacks often emerge feeling like they have a new lease on life. They might quit their jobs, go to Disneyland or otherwise make big change. One change they ought to be thinking about: Physical activity. Many studies have shown #exercise and #fitness to be vital to good #health, in just about all situations. Including after a heart attack, new research reveals. Even light activity goes a long way.

"It's the idea of health professionals 'literally prescribing you a community activity or resource the same way they'd prescribe you pills or therapies,' she [Julia Hotz] explains. The prescriptions include exercise, art, music, exposure to nature and volunteering, which are known to have enormous benefits to physical and mental health."

For a club of women walkers in Las Vegas, even the desert heat doesn’t deter their weekly gathering. Many of them have sought out the conversation and companionship – a sneaker-clad effort to strengthen the social fabric of the area. #walking #dialog #exercise

The app gives me more calories if I work out. So, I've been adding daily walks to my routine. Also, I don't hate the walks as much as I used to, and kinda look forward to them. Today, I walked over 4 miles, and felt pretty good about it! I didn't start there in April. When I started a couple months ago, I could barely make a mile and a half during a half hour walk. I guess it's easier without toting around 20+ pounds.

#FitIn2025 – June edition

This won’t be my best month… 😉 Something to do with a big hip surgery and then being in heavy restriction for 6 weeks may have something to do with it…

I guess I’ll try my best to not eat too much. I’ll try to get some movement in every day, also to keep my muscles happy and all that. But, the surgery is on Friday the 13th, and then the restrictions start. I don’t know how well the surgery will go. They expect me to be in hospital for two nights. Fingers crossed 🤞🏻 that all will go well!
