Boost please!

I would like to commission some art SPECIFICALLY to run through #Nightshade and post somewhere on my blog to trap scrapers.

Total budget: $500AUD (negotiable)

Preference given to marginalised creators in AU/NZ

No NSFW art at this stage and I personally don't like horror or gore but otherwise go nuts. The art is yours to do with what you want but I will need some kind of agreement that says I can use it for anti-scraping purposes!

I would also encourage others, especially in tech, who can afford it to do the same.

Artists, please chime in here if I am completely off base.

Tbh, I haven't seen much progress as far as those tools go.

One upside to the outdoors being a solar oven for most of the past week:

Aaron and I pulled out masses of elder and #nightshade and other unwanteds, and scattered them on the bare stretch of our driveway to dry out and shrivel up. This should allow some of it to go into our #compost bins without resurrecting, instead of overflowing our organics bin. #DoubleTap

The #pollinator and the poisonous plant. A Common Carder #Bee visiting a Woody #Nightshade (a.k.a. #Bittersweet) flower at Brandon Marsh last month. Adapted for buzz pollination, the flower releases pollen when a visiting Bee vibrates her wing muscles at just the right frequency.

Pollination takes place as #Bees gather pollen to feed their larvae. The resulting berries are toxic to us, but provide food for birds.

According to our robot overlords (and visually confirmed checking #iNaturalist) it would appear we have some #bittersweet #nightshade (Solanum dulcamara) in the backyard.

I was behind on seed sowing starts again this past Winter!
I don't transplant any nightshade plants out into beds/pots until at least 2-3 flowers appear on starters. That helps the transplants to do much better - they're stronger if you wait a bit longer to transplant out.

I wrote this yesterday but wasn't able to post it. Visual artists! If you don't want your work scanned/stolen by generative AI, run it through #Glaze. If you want to poison AI algorithms and end this trend of awful art, run it through #Nightshade. Both programs are free from the University of Chicago.

Every few months I post a photo to @PixelFed to see if @dansup has updated the image resolution limitations... still haven't happened it seems (and also no Anti-AI license yet... though I poison most images with #nightshade these days anyway but not sure how effective that is after the aggressive downscaling after uploading). ​
