Had the occasion this week to revisit at the first Power App that I deployed, which I hadn't had the occasion to interact with for months.

The department I made it for had unearthed a bug, which I fixed. But the more salient experience was seeing something I made, which has now been running for more than a year, and is still used throughout the organization.

Which, frankly, was both thrilling and validating. 💪

Hey everyone! Here is my #Introduction.

I recently (2023-09-25) consolidated my various Mastodon accounts into this one and did all the necessary account redirections here. I've also recently begun consolidating all my websites into a single namespace: https://michaelharley.net.

I work remotely as a #PowerPlatform Developer from Richmond, VA, US. I'm interested in #UIUX and #Accessibility, especially regarding #PowerPlatform.

I enjoy #Homeassistant, #Factorio, #Foosball, metal shows, grilling, and reading about spaceship fights.

We have four cats, which are henceforth referred to as The Goblins.

It's that time of the year again when #Microsoft announces a subset of #PowerPlatform roadmap items for "2023 Release Wave 1". My top 5 is listed here: ff.tips/23RW1

Why "subset"? Because there will be plenty of new features added along the way, as well as some of these items getting postponed/cancelled. The development of the MS #lowcode platform doesn't really work in predefined waves, meaning it's always better to check the current status from the Release Planner website.

When I interned as a web developer last year I worked w/ some student designers. They were able to determine things were off at the pixel level though a screenshot. They kept asking me to center something but my programmer friends & I were like "it's centered??? :abloblamp: "

Now that I'm designing + building - I just know these buttons I quickly put together might give a visceral reaction :ablobblewobble:

(I can tell the internal icons are a bit off)

Continued thread

At first, I was a bit overwhelmed as they're all mini-projects & they vary quite a bit - but once I broke it down into smaller steps, it became fun

Also, it really helped to have completed each of these tasks individually for other projects, for the CoE Starter Kit or for general research
