"The new law compounds the already $17 billion in direct federal subsidies U.S. taxpayers pay to oil, gas, and coal companies every year. It cuts hundreds of billions of dollars in tax incentives for #RenewableEnergy, despite it being cheaper, healthier, more efficient, and more reliable than #FossilFuels. As a result, the law threatens nearly a million U.S. jobs and will result in higher electricity and transportation costs for people living in every state in the continental U.S.

"The power of the fossil fuel industry over Trump and the #RepublicanParty is on full display in their Big Beautiful Bill. Mike Sommers, president of the #AmericanPetroleumInstitute, the fossil fuel industry’s largest lobbying group, told CNBC, 'It includes almost all of our priorities.' "

A #pipeline company is reviving plans to build TWO #NaturalGas pipelines into #NewYork, in a bet that the #Trump admin will be able to strong-arm #states into signing off on #energy projects.

#NY had blocked both pipelines over #environmental concerns. But Trump has made clear that he wants more #oil & #gas infrastructure, including in the Northeast, where pipelines had become so hard to build that companies had all but given up on them.

…On March 12, the new #EPA unveiled what it called "the most consequential day of #deregulation in US history" by rolling back 31 initiatives & eliminating the agency's #DEI arm & its 10 regional #EnvironmentalJustice offices, which worked w/communities to ID & mitigate local sources of #pollution. It *said* it has saved $2B in *wasteful* [because some people have no worth] spending by canceling hundreds of #grants in conjunction w/ #billionaire #ElonMusk's #DOGE.
