No, facilitated communication (FC) is not based on scientific evidence. In fact, numerous studies have found that the technique is not effective at helping individuals with severe communication disabilities to communicate. These studies have found that the messages produced using FC are not actually coming from the individual with the disability, but are instead being generated by the facilitator. This is because...ETC!
