Interesting EngineeringStudy reveals tea bags leak plastics that can infiltrate human cellsNew research has uncovered a worrying source of micro and nano plastic pollution released from commonly used packaging, particularly tea bags.

Composting/gardening note: One item I do not compost (unfortunately, have in the past) are plastic tea bags. Plastic tea bags are a notorious source of microplastics (both for the environment, and for people). Don't use them.

Study: "Plastic Teabags Release Billions of Microparticles and Nanoparticles into Tea"

"...We show that steeping a single plastic teabag at brewing temperature (95 °C) releases approximately 11.6 billion microplastics and 3.1 billion nanoplastics into a single cup of the beverage...."
