#Midsummer #slideshow

Here's the event slideshow.

1st #NorthAfrican #Cookout at Fed Farm in #Vicwest. Absolutely fabulous community event! Lots of delicious #Moroccan & #Tunisian foods were cooked & given to guests to eat. Many stories shared. Beautiful acoustic music was played. Wonderful new local BIPOC connections were made & some lovely reunions occurred too. I had a really great time!

Most folks who came out had similar displacement backgrounds. Several of us are war survivors who lost our family homes overseas & are far from many family members(my Mom's side is stuck in remote offgrid village) who are still living in our homelands. It was good for our souls to be around fellow POC diaspora. We understand each other better than others do because of similar life experiences from before coming to Canada. We also faced similar struggles/racism when we came to Canada as refugees of wars.

I am looking forward to helping them out more at some future community connecting events & grassroots projects in the near future.

I AM HAVING SO MUCH FUN DOING #videoediting !!!

I haven't decided which I like more, it is a toss up between #YouCutPro free version, and #capcut which are both powerful for being free.

Simply used as well, and I would recommend YouCut for a beginner, though CapCut is also not hard to use at all.

I am making two #videos atm- One a compilation of photography with some effects, music and a bit of narration. Then one of people at Soul Housing who wronged me.

I am going to revive my #Youtube channel and start posting there as well.

#clapper is fun, but I made that because of how low the barrier of entry was. It was the easiest #app to just grab and start #livestreaming with, and allows adult content so if something crazy happens at a #protest I don't lose my channel.

If I want to stream I need to use #twitch and YouTube, they are just harder to get into.

I just want something to do really and figured some practice in public wouldn't hurt cuz it still makes me nervous to talk with people around.

This is a shameless #selfpromo for my #clapper channel.

It is a #project I am working on for my own protection as someone mentally disabled in the #usa right now.

Things are chaotic, and I live in #losangeles where insane stuff is going on, and I want it to be shown if something horrible is happening around or to me.

If you could spread the word I'd appreciate it. It isn't about the money, but I do need a better #job anyway.

I am not going to #livestream today like I said.

Going to #skidrow yesterday put me in a dark state of mind, and I am exhausted.

However I feel it was good for me, and I am better today now that some #emotions have processed.

I need a rest because I basically had the most terrifying hour or two ever-

1. #livestream when I was nervous and a novice.

2. Be in giant #protest of people which terrified me.

3. Go to Skidrow which #triggers me hard.

Someone did tip me a dollar.

Figuring out how to use an entire #socialmedia platform after not using them for half a decade is definitely a lot of #work

I've never used #clapper until today.

But I don't mind #learning at all because it has a purpose.

I am doing this simply to spread the word that what is happening is not #right.

I believe in this, and I am #protecting my people I feel.

Nobody speaks on behalf of the #homeless.

So I will.

I don't really care if anyone listens.

I do fully plan on #livestreaming later on #clapper I am just a 90 year old man in a 31 year old man's body, and have horrible #ptsd so talking in public is terrifying.

But I will, and hold nothing back.

I am used to being afraid, there are points where I am scared of everything sometimes and still have to #live somehow.

I am thinking in the evening, on #hollywood BLVD just so I can feel afraid and handle it.

Cuss out some #teslas cuz I'm MAD.

In the evening with all the #tourists there.

Well if anyone is curious what I actually sound like, I am finding #clapper to be really entertaining and I am gonna start posting videos too.

Maybe start trying to narrate or tell stories with video instead who knows.

But we are indeed going to go Livestream cussing at #tesla drivers in #losangeles and #koreatown later at some point past 1.

What do you really think I planned this?

This is one of the videos I've uploaded to my new account. It's of Homalco Chief Darren Blaney sanding down some of the #handcarved #cedar canoe paddles that he made for Indigenous youths lives lost. We talk about lack of being able to obtain any old growth for #Indigenous #cultural carving needs these days.

@notfunnyelle not that I know this from experience but commercial airline pilots interpret it as a marine vessel in distress signal. i.e. the closest Coast Guard station gets the message...and then...well...after a conversation about how all Jet Blue pilots are high AF (again) the call gets dumped to local police...this never happened when I got my clapper to activate at the sound of a laugh and then Netflix is a joke etc....effin bullshit... #Netflix #clapper #DistressSignals #MorseCode #pilots
