Happy to see out our latest work on studying animal body size variations using single cell transcriptomics to measure gene expression of individual cells. Learned my fair bit of statistics here, and most importantly I learned how to build wrapper functions for "complex" tasks in R (such as differntial gene expression) in a modular way. Thanks to all the authors involved! science.org/doi/10.1126/sciadv #singlecell #scrna #allometry #splitseq #planarians #generegulation

👩🏽‍🔬 Aspiring group leaders: we're #hiringnow!
➡️ imp.ac.at/career/open-position

We aim to recruit a #youngPI with an innovative research programme in any of these or related areas: #molecularbiology & #cellbiology, #generegulation and #development, #cancer & #immunology.

As a group leader, you'll be recruiting through our competitive #PhD Program, shared with other institutes at the The Vienna BioCenter:

#BodyPlan Reorganization in a #Sponge Correlates with Microbiome Change academic.oup.com/mbe/article/d

"The sponges respond to the loss of #cyanobacteria—eg. due to shading—with significant changes to their #morphology: Here, initially blue sponges with leaf-like growth forms transformed into white, thread-like #morphotypes with a markedly different #microanatomy."

I guess I should do an #introduction -- I'm a computational biologist working at the intersection of bacterial #PathogenGenomics and #FunctionalGenomics, mostly on sequencing-based technologies, and run a research group at the Helmholtz Institute for RNA-based Infection Research in Würzburg.

We dabble in #MachineLearning, #BayesianStatistics, and #DataVisualization, figuring out ways to apply these techniques to investigate #Pathogen #GeneRegulation and #Evolution.

Hello #ScienceMastodon Twitter refugees

#introduction I am a 🇫🇷 molecular & structural biologist working at the CNRS. I study the molecular mechanisms that control human gene expression focusing on #transcription factors & the Pol II machinery

Expect to see here a lot of info on #generegulation, #enhancers, #histone modifications & structural insights into the eukaryotic Transcription Initiation machinery. #CryoEM
I will also highlight #womeninscience to give them the visibility they deserve
