I'm gonna list out my interests, and there's a ton of 'em. Classic autism move, getting obsessed with weird topics that stick with you forever.

Heads up, #Fediverse, you might lose it when I drop 100+ hashtags in one post. That's just how autism rolls I guess.

If you have any favorites or upload content yourself, I'm eager to expand my PeerTube experience and discover new people, creators, and instances.

I appreciate any suggestions across these topics.

Cheers! 🐧🏴

I'm thinking about making #UX for a #backup tool for #QubesOS - I wonder, dear Mastodon people, what backup solutions (for entire system or for parts of it) do you like? Which do you hate? I know that the ideal is "backup just happens", but that has never truly been my experience with, well, anything. The current state of backuping in Qubes is atrocious, so I want to look to my betters on that.

"Over the last couple of years, I have been working on making Qubes OS - a secure operating system - more usable for both hackers and the less technically brilliant users. It has been a very interesting journey that has taught me a lot about clever hackers, so-called normal people and the way you can make security and usability work together, not against each other."

I upgraded #QubesOS a few weeks ago, reinstalling from scratch. I think there are significant performance improvements on my Librem laptop. I've been hesitant to say this because I thought it might be related to it being a newly refreshed system, or switching to uBlockOrigin. But even with browsers not running, in my previous installation I could hear what sounded like constant light hard drive activity. Not to mention a lot of fan activity, though again uBlockOrigin might account for that.
