Emily was fired from her Bob Marshall Wilderness Trail Crew job.

"As a result of the illegal terminations, there is no trail crew in the Flathead National Forest. Rivers won’t have human waste picked up. Trails won’t be cleared and opened. Outfitters, guides, hunting and fishing, floating, hiking, horse packing, will all be affected by the illegal firing of government employees."

This is a personal hobbyhorse as I used to work on the Forest Service budget

Back in 2015, we projected that by 2025 wildland firefighting would be almost 70% of the total #USFS budget (it actually hit 70% in 2021)

This doofus fired over 3,000 USFS staff, the people trying to keep your homes safe from #climate fueled mega-fires

The reduction in resources for wildfire prevention comes a month after devastating blazes in Los Angeles that are expected to be the costliest in US history, with some expecting losses as high as $35 billion.

The Oregon-based non-profit Lomakatsi Restoration Project said its contracts with the #FederalAgencies, including the US #ForestService [#USFS] & Bureau of #Land Management to reduce hazardous fuels in #Oregon, #California & #Idaho, have been frozen.
