I’m attempting to bake proper hot cross buns for the first time. It’s one of the things I miss most since leaving the UK, just being able to buy them in the supermarket!
Some US stores sell something they call “hot cross buns” but THE BUNS ARE A LIE!! 
Not the same thing at all!

Yesterday's Challenge 
Third time’s a charm!
This time I added the milk and butter mixture while it was still warm (~45C instead of ~35C). The dough was a bit stickier, and it proved a lot quicker!
Working with COLD choc chips was definitely the right idea. Much easier to shape the dough.
For some reason the dough doesn’t pass the windowpane test even after 8 minutes of #Thermomix kneading. Not sure if that’s to do with the composition of the dough? Oh well. I know they taste good
