Currently fighting a minor #rodent infestation in my #garden. Some of them fall into the #trap alright. But others somehow manage to take the bait off without triggering the trap. Am I breeding a variety with advanced trap circumventing skills?

The cats were intently watching out the fire escape window. I didn't know why until I opened the window gate.

A tiny flying squirrel was sitting on the edge of a large planter saucer, chowing on the peanuts inside it.

Flying squirrels don't seem to be common in NYC. But maybe they are?

This is only my second time ever seeing one in my lifetime. The first time was when one was hanging onto a window, peering inside of my fourth floor apartment in Chicopee, MA. Here's a photo of that one, from October 1, 2008.

I'll check again tomorrow morning and I'll have my phone camera set on Night Sight so I'm ready to take a picture if it returns for a pre dawn snack.

In the backyard of the “Amsterdam Museum” (formerly known as “Hermitage”) you can find some ‘metal beasts’, made by artist “Junk-Art”. 🐀 ⚙️⛓️

The sculptures are handmade, sustainable, and the material they use is steel. It’s including sources such as bolts, gears, all sorts of motor parts, horseshoes and metal scraps. ♻️

In short, this app is against the spirit of Mastodon and the Fediverse. There are plenty of Mastodon apps that respect you: @Tusky, Fedilab (@apps), @moshidon

I didn't know we have a #WhiskersWednesday and I had never heard of a #gundi until Sunday, so two firsts in one post! 🐹
Gundis are the size of a guinea pig and live in Northern Africa (and tiny zoos close to Magdeburg). They are also called comb rats, because the two hind feet have comb-like bristles between the claws. I didn't see the bristles, because this handsome gundi was chilling on the log, but the #whiskers are #cute too 😸
