Bought my first new colour Tamagotchi after the P's. It's the Tamagotchi Paradise, and it introduces so many new concepts and characters and THINGS! It has a dial on the side! There's so much to do, and I'm having a blast. 
The screen is an absolute cowbag to photograph, but here is my first (blurry) adult, Horhotchi. It's a little owl! I'm so happy. 
This tama's a chonky boi.
Someone should make a circuit board that fits in an original #tamagotchi shell and upgrades the screen and CPU so that it can do a lot of extra stuff; #gps location tracking, #meshtastic node, #pentesting and #radio #hacking like a #flipperZero, etc. Maybe some #arm #soc like a #RaspberryPi, or #Rocknix, or maybe just a little #ESP32. Maybe just cram a #Pebble watch in there or something.

So, initial thoughts having only made it past baby phase to toddler...
The screen viewing angle is very bad from anything other than directly head on.
The sound is a lot more bit crushed and distorted. It's like the small speaker is being worked waaay too hard. It sounds awful compared to the Pix and On.
After playing with the Tamagotchi Pix for a week, which has a capacitive touch indented button set that allows for gestures, this tamagotchi feels less interactive.
The main menu also feels a little less done with love, and a little more generic.
I don't know how I feel about achievements long term, but they are fun and novel right now.

For #throwbackthursday I thought I'd share some concept art from the very first iteration of the virtual pet game. It had classes like explorer, merchant, magician and all these different animals you could pick. Was a very fun project to work on but we all had different visions for what the game was meant to be so it ultimately went nowhere in the end.
